Joey’s background in MMA comes from living and training abroad in Southeast Asia. With half a decade of Karate under his belt, later in life Joey learned Muay Thai in Thailand. After returning to the US, he began competing in Kick Boxing and learning the modalities of Brazilian Jui Jitsu and Wrestling.
Definitely! The class will always be adjusted to who shows up and the level of each of the participants.
If you have gloves and hand wraps, please bring them. We do have gloves and wraps available at the front desk, however these are for public use and your gloves and wraps will likely be a better fit.

This class is suitable for ages 13+
While the gym doesn’t offer an advanced version of this class, Joey is happy to work with individuals on a 1:1 basis to help teach the basics of sparring, or other advanced techniques.
