Denver ranks as one of America’s 10 fittest cities and offers endless ways to stay active and healthy. New workout spots and classes, like the ones showcased below, pop up continually to feed Denver’s adventurous and athletic spirit. The outdoor activities stretch from playing in the Rocky Mountains to the vibrant urban parks and trails around the Denver Metro area.
Indoors, you’ll find state-of-the-art gyms like Rocky Mountain Flex Fitness, which focus on total body health through strength and endurance training. Yoga, silks, pilates, and cycling studios, as well as climbing gyms, offer variety, giving you the ability to switch up your routine. Whether you’re into cycling, strength training, water sports, or trying something completely new, Denver encourages a balanced, active lifestyle because we have it ALL!
As summer winds down, we wanted to find some fun workouts around the Mile High City that you could do well into the fall and winter to help keep your exercise routine fresh. There are many benefits to cross-training outside your regular training sessions, such as building strength, improving mobility and cardiovascular endurance, preventing injuries, and keeping motivation high. So, on the days when you are not training at RMFF, check out these four unique workouts in Denver!
Yoga at the Gardens at the Denver Botanical Gardens
Escape the typical indoor yoga studio and unfold your mat surrounded by nature at the Denver Botanic Gardens. This natural sanctuary provides the ultimate backdrop for a rejuvenating Vinyasa yoga flow and getting to practice your favorite moves, like the yoga dragonfly pose.
Yoga in the gardens allows you to soak up all the benefits of practicing in nature. The tranquility enhances mental clarity, and the blooming surroundings evoke a sense of peace. Plus, plants are natural air purifiers, so you are breathing in crisp, clean air with each controlled breath. The connection with nature centers your spirit.
Yoga is a great addition to your strength training routine at RMFF because they have mutual benefits: resistance training builds muscle strength to help you hold yoga poses, while yoga’s flexibility, balance, and mobility support safe, effective lifting. So, bring your mat and water bottle and revitalize yourself with this all-level yoga class at Denver Botanic Gardens.
