Sip for a Cause: Supporting Our Nurses, One Cup at a Time

Nurses are the real MVPs of our healthcare system, working tirelessly to provide care and support to patients in need. At Rocky Mountain Flex, we recognize the invaluable contributions of nurses and are excited to share our summer fundraiser to support them.

Why do Colorado nurses need our support?

In 2023, the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics reported that there were 3,175,390 registered nurses in the US. However, despite that high number, Colorado faces a significant nursing shortage that is expected to worsen in the coming years. The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence reported around 76,000 registered nurses in the state and that number doesn’t count the number that are actually employed. Out of that number, 24% (14,700) are over the age of 60 and many of those nurses will be retiring soon. A study by Mercer predicts a shortage of around 10,000 nurses in Colorado by 2026. In response to this shortage, healthcare facilities statewide, including here in Denver, are offering hiring bonuses between $7,000 and $14,000 to attract nurses.

Nurses are crucial to patient care. They provide expert medical support, comfort during hard times, and personalized attention when we need it most. Without enough nurses, we could be looking at longer wait times, more medical errors, and overworked staff. This shows how important nurses are in the state of Colorado and Denver and why they need our support.

This summer, join us for our fundraiser, Sip for a Cause: Supporting Our Nurses, One Cup at a Time. This special promotion is dedicated to helping the Colorado Nurses Foundation by showing our appreciation for these hardworking healthcare professionals who serve our community.

At Rocky Mountain Flex, we love giving back to the community, especially to those who tirelessly serve our community. As a special thanks, we offer a discounted membership for first responders, which includes Denver nurses, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), law enforcement, and paramedics. We think that exercise, especially weightlifting, is essential for first responders because it helps them develop the physical strength and mental toughness required to meet the demands of their high-paced jobs.
