Trainer Spotlight Series with Noah Moon

When it comes to transforming your body and creating habits that last, Noah Moon knows the process inside and out. As a body transformation coach at RMFLEX, Noah focuses on more than quick fixes. His goal is to help clients achieve results they can maintain without feeling restricted or overwhelmed.

In this Trainer Spotlight, Noah shares practical strategies for sustainable fat loss, muscle growth, and long-term motivation. He also talks about the biggest nutrition mistakes people make, his favorite training tips, and the often-overlooked equipment he recommends at RMFLEX.

1. What is the most common nutrition mistake people make when trying to get in shape, and how can they correct it?

It heavily depends on the person’s goal, but if the goal is fat loss, the biggest mistake is blindly eating less calories. People who decide to just eat less will achieve results, but will almost always gain their weight back due to a variety of factors. Most notably, lowered metabolism and rampant cravings.

The most sustainable way would be to keep metabolism high and find healthier, lower-calorie alternatives to what you already enjoy.

For weight loss individuals, a common mistake is focusing on only cardio and calories. A more sustainable method would be substituting processed foods with more nutritious, protein-focused options and increasing the body’s metabolism.

2. What’s your top exercise for building strength in a specific body part, and why is it so effective?

I see many people training their abs ineffectively. To build visible abs, focus on volume and intensity like any other muscle. Cable crunches or weighted declined crunches are some of the most effective ways to develop a visibly rock solid core (given your BF% is in the optimal range)

3. What is the biggest misconception people have about personal training, and what should they know instead?

Great personal trainers do more than count reps and correct form. We help people build a great relationship with fitness that’ll allow them to maintain their results for a lifetime.

People underestimate the value of having a professional there to motivate you, monitor your progress, and ensuring nothing about your training program is overlooked.

It doesn’t matter how long you may have trained, there’s always more to learn. Given the opportunity, ask a qualified trainer to take a look at your program or check your form.

4. What’s the number one thing people can do to stay motivated long-term in their fitness journey?

Being conscious of how a fit and healthy lifestyle makes you feel. From my experience training clients, people join for the vanity but stay for reasons they never would’ve expected. Learn to enjoy the process and make it part of who you are.

5. How can exercise help manage stress, and what impact does it have on someone's overall progress and results?

Exhaust the body, tame the mind. There’s nothing more beneficial to one’s overall health than good sleep, exercise, and being out in the sun.

6. How do you incorporate wellness habits like sleep, hydration, and stress management into your training programs?

I remind my clients frequently about how sleep is foundational to their goals and provide clients with crystal clear direction to eliminate health related stress.

I help clients understand the value of the amount of sleep and sleep quality. Having a convenient water source is helpful in staying hydrated. Depending on the type of stress regarding the question, solutions can differ greatly.

7. What’s your favorite piece of equipment at RMFLEX for working a specific body part, and why do you recommend it?

Huge fan of the dual cable cross machine for biceps for its great tension during the stretch for maximum growth.

8. Which piece of RMFLEX equipment do you think is underutilized but great for improving overall strength and mobility?

Back extension machine for lower back stability and strength. One of the best exercises to improve your posture and decrease the risk of a back injury.
